Restaurant of the Week: Oak on Camelback with Chef Robert Bogart

Chef Robert Bogart, Owner of Oak on Camelback

Meet Chef Bogart, previously cooked at the James Beard House in New York and been asked to cook at multiple Ritz Carlton properties throughout his 8 years with the company.  Having worked recently on opening restaurants in California he found his way back here to Arizona.

Now he is back in the town where he started his career and back cooking food by wood-fire in St. Francis’s custom wood burning oven.

Oak on Camelback is a St. Francis neighborhood gathering place for the people and the community set in the heart of Phoenix. A neighborhood restaurant, inspired globally with the goal of giving you an unforgettable dining experience.

For date night, we headed over to Oak on Camelback to enjoy some quality mommy and daddy time. Our favorite part of this experience was the atmosphere and the vibes- Upbeat, chic and the love for cooking wood-fire food was incredible. We want to share our menu items and what we had:

For Starters,

We enjoyed the CRISPY PORK RIBS.

Hoisin BBQ Glazed Pork Topped with Crushed Cashews, Cilantro, Scallions, Sesame seeds

A 10/10 Recommended!

(My absolute favorite)

Kung Pow Brussels

Crispy Brussel Sprouts, Peppers, Spicy House Kung Pow Sauce, Cashews, Scallions

We also tried the Oak-Fired 12’Pizza

Being a popular place for their wood-fire stove we figured why not!

The Butchers Block

Made with Pepperoni, Sausage, Prosciutto, Cheese blend, Tomato sauce, and Mild Cherry Peppers

For Entrees Michael and I both Shared,

Handheld Whiskey Jalapeno Burger made with Whiskey Caramelized Onions, Pepper Jack Cheese, Tomatoes, Jalapeno Slices and BBQ Sauce. Michael’s favorite item on the menu!

Oh, this Prime Flat Iron Streak-frites was incredibly delish too!

A Prime 8 oz Flat Iron, Braised shallot tarragon butter, house-cut fires, oak-fired turnips & Cauliflower Gratin, Apricot Rosemary Ketchup.

Would you try this steak out?

We made room for Dessert

We had to try everything on the menu from start to finish and that includes dessert, too!

So, OAK-FIRED APPLE CRISP with Vanilla Gelato it was.

The Night ended “Perfectly” with mommy and daddy satisfied.
