Family Adventures with Sky Ute Casino Resort, Ignacio Colorado

This post has been sponsored by Sky Ute Casino. All opinions are entirely my own.

Over the children’s fall break, we decided to take a road-trip to Colorado to explore the Southern Ute Native Lands. I was born and raised on the Navajo Nation Reservation, never traveled through the Southern part of Colorado.

Give it up for my traveling buddies. Ariel and Mariah were so glad to finally make it to SKY UTE CASINO RESORT in Ignacio, Colorado. After 9 hours on the road, we finally made it to the Southern Ute Native Resort.

It was after 10 pm when we arrived. We checked in and went straight to bed and prepared for the next day.

THE ROOM TOUR

Sometimes it’s the ROOM FOR US!

My girls and I love a sweet suite. So much so, we will travel to stay in this over-spaced gorgeous Southern Ute Inspired King Suite called Jesse R. Jefferson again!

Jesse R. Jefferson was the first Southern Ute Native Women Elected on the Tribal Council. She was a Mom and Businesswoman.

WHAT WE ATE

Willows Cafe Bistro

Morning Breakfast before our family adventures

Mariah and Ariel loved their breakfast at Willows Cafe Bistro located on the main floor of the casino. Each morning they ordered the same thing. Cereal donuts with hashbrowns and bacon. I personally enjoyed the large portion size biscuit and gravy. Here’s the MENU for you to check out.

We love a great spread

Family Activities

To awaken our Southern spirit, we spent most of our travel time in this gorgeous Native American Inspired Indoor Pool. It was a relaxing day for the whole family. The girls really enjoyed floating around and around in the lazy river. NOTE TO SELF: BRING A DONUT FLOATY.

Soothing in the hot tub was my favorite part of the trip

“Awaken the soul with my natives”

In addition to the Indoor Pool, Fitness Center and Casino Floor. The 18-hole mini golf course was pretty during the changing season. All the leaves changing color. Reds. Yellows. Orange and Greens. It was such a spiritual moment with my baby girls as we walked around the area.

Then we found an AWESOME PLAYGROUND ON THE RESORT!

Have you been to Sky Ute Casino Resort Lately?

It was our very first trip and I have to say. The people are helpful and beyond amazing!

We love sharing and exploring the Southern Ute Indian Resort, the lavish room space and most importantly we enjoyed the time spent learning about the land and people. We can’t wait to return for the Pow Wows. You know a native loves a GOOD POW WOW. Ha-Ha
